The ruling Social Democrats said in a press release Wednesday that presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska is following in the footsteps of incumbent head of state Gjorgji Ivanov.
“Siljanovska’s rhetoric is reminiscent of Ivanov era. She defends criminals, she does not condemn violence, acts solely upon partisan orders of Mickoski, promotes politics against progress, against EU and NATO.”
“It’s déjà vu all over again. Same as Ivanov, Siljanovska falsely presents herself as a non-party candidate for president. But the citizens are well aware that Siljanovska is a candidate of Mickoski and of VMRO-DPMNE’s leading figures,” SDSM said in a press release.
“Siljanovska wants to be like him, the new Ivanov, a partisan servant standing for political party interests and acting contrary to people’s interests.”
“The citizens will not allow a copycat of Ivanov. The citizens will not allow another party servant to devaluate the post of president, a behavior reminiscent of the outgoing president in the past 10 years. A single ballot for Siljanovska is a ballot against progress. The citizens will choose a genuine head of state who unites. A president who will lead the state toward integration into EU and NATO,” SDSM said.
