The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, hosted today in the meeting the delegation of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) led by the Director of the Constituency of the Netherlands, China, Mongolia, Macedonia and Armenia Frans Weekers, and Board Director for Ireland, Denmark, Lithuania and Kosovo, Patrick Walsh. Members of the Board present at the meeting among them represented 32 countries of the world.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Haradinaj thanked the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development that continues to be one of the strategic partners of Kosovo that helped in the realization of great infrastructure projects.
“Your arrival in Kosovo is a good message and confirmation of the good work that we have had during this time,” said Prime Minister Haradinaj, adding that Kosovo is committed to continue the partnership with EBRD in the important development projects of the country.
“Kosovo remains committed to implement great projects of public interest , in order to increase the well-being of citizens, such as infrastructure projects, renewable energy, mining, private sector development through the financing of small and medium enterprises, and the support of foreign direct investments, ” said Prime Minister Haradinaj, demanding from the representatives of this Bank that their support to help Kosovo continue even in the future.
At the meeting also mentioned the measures the country has undertaken to review legislation in the country in order to help the private sector as much as possible, avoiding bureaucratic obstacles.
In addition to the infrastructure and energy projects, in this meeting was emphasized the importance of the development of projects in the water, mining and telecommunication sectors.
Prime Minister Haradinaj also stressed the importance of the projects which were presented at the last EBRD summit, some of which are very close to implementation.
The EBRD Board Directors, from their side, confirmed the readiness of this international institution to continue supporting the economy of Kosovo and government work on reforms and improving lives of citizens.
Part of this meeting were also Minister of Finance, Bedri Hamza and Minister of Economic Development, Valdrin Lluka.
