The president of Macedonian parliament, Talat Xhaferi, met with Romano Prodi, Italian politician who served as president of the European Commission, and was twice a prime minister of Italy.
The meeting took place on the occasion of Prodi’s nomination for Ohrid’s 2019 World Humanism award, a prize established by the Ohrid Academy for Humanism. It will be awarded to the Italian politician in recognition of his unique contribution to the prospects of modern civilization.
In the introductory comments, Xhaferi said “the award goes to the right person at the right time, bearing in mind that Prodi was part of the European Union’s presidency in much critical moments for our region. This award crowns his humane contribution.
Ohrid’s world prize of humanism is granted to outstanding persons whose creative activity promotes the principles of humanism, love and brotherhood between all nations of the world.
