Professor Jove Kekenovski has lodged a formal application over the legality of the Law on the Use of Languages at the Constitutional Court. He claims the authorities have endorsed the law in cowboy style and brazenly, thereby violating the Constitution, Laws and Parliamentary Rules of Procedure.
Kekenovski also questions the vote in parliament. He claims that the law has failed in the Parliament by falling short of the required two-thirds majority.
“I deem that the law fell short of the required two-thirds majority. It was adopted with 69 votes in favor,’ Kekenovski said on Friday.
“The law is breaching the rule of law. The Constitutional Court must take into account that the law was not signed by the head of the state. Many laws have never come into force under the similar circumstances,” he added.
