“Improvement of the education system, the creation of schools according to the German model, school management, inclusiveness and improving the role of mentors, with purpose to have a competitive degree with the EU states, are some of the priorities and the help of the German state in addressing these projects was and remains indispensable “, said Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, after hosting in the meeting the representative of the German GIZ project, Boris Scharlowski, accompanied by the Minister of Education Science and Technology, Shyqiri Bytyqi and the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Christian Heldt.
Prime Minister Haradinaj thanked Mr. Scharlowski for the contribution of the GIZ organization in enhancing the quality of education in the country, emphasizing that education in Kosovo remains one of the main priorities of the Government.
Prime Minister Haradinaj said that the budget increase in education by 12 percent, 300 million euros more dedicated to education for 2019, is the first step in improving education in the country.
“Now, together we have to commit that the implementation of our agenda for a proper education goes on the right track “, said Prime Minister Haradinaj, adding that in addition to these reforms, professional and dual education is very necessary for Kosovo and in this aspect is required much more commitment.
Prime Minister Haradinaj considered that the evidence that is being worked on raising the quality of education is also the increase of the Municipal Education budget up to 185 million euros, 14 million euros more than this year, meanwhile, with the Law on Salaries, education workers will have a dignified salary.
From his side , Project Leader Boris Scharlowski thanked Prime Minister Haradinaj for the commitment of the Government in improving the education sector and said that GIZ will continue to contribute as much as possible in helping to improve the sector of education , because this, as he said, has to do with the prospect and future of children.
