Macedonia’s Ministry of Justice will demand cancellation of Hungaria’s decision to grant the former prime minister a refugee/asylee status, Justice Minister Renata Deskoska said on Wednesday.
Deskoska underlined that Macedonia will call on Hungary to reconsider its decision to grant a convicted ex-prime minister a status of asylee.
She added that recently-amended law on asylum in Hungary envisages the possibility of cancellation of asylee status. If Gruevski does not receive Hungarian citizenship, the asylum residence permit will be brought up for consideration after three years.
Deskoska pointed out Hungary’s restrictive asylum-related legislation, including the possibility to recall/cancel the asylee residence permit.
